The Griswold House Garden was restored by the Guilford Garden Club in 2011 to represent a typical 1800’s garden.
The garden is maintained by GGC members who volunteer their time pruning, weeding and splitting plants in the spring and fall.
Financing the purchase of plants for the restoration came from the Guilford Garden Club. The continued maintenance and replacement of plants are provided from members’ gardens and the Village Greene Gardens of Guilford.
In the fall of 2021, GGC members planted a memorial shrub in memory of Marlene DeSanto, a 39 year Club member.
The two Town Hall pots are planted and maintained by the Garden Club. Flowers and plants are changed seasonally and watered weekly. This year, a miniature evergreen was planted in the middle of the large pots, where summer and fall flowers will be planted in the perimeter.

This historic trough has evolved into a planter near the Guilford Green. It is maintained with seasonal plantings year-round.
